Summer is a great time for a road trip, and a summer wedding is an even better reason. This has been kind of a regular thing most of the past few years.
We began by heading north and made a stop to look at the distant highlands across Wisconsin’s Black River State Natural Areas.

From Virginia, my next destination was New England.
From Virginia it was back north, across the Mason Dixon line into Pennsylvania.

Finally the time for the biggest trip of the year arrived. We flew off to Japan on September 28th and followed the sun all the way across the Pacific, past the Aleutian islands, to Japan.
12 hours in the air, Minneapolis to Tokyo.
