One of my goals for this summer was to bike out into the countryside early on weekend mornings. So far I’ve made it once early in the summer and twice in August, and enjoyed some peaceful beauty each ride.
On September 1, 1913, Chester Wells boarded a train in Freeport and headed to Madison for an appointment with his doctor. It was the last time anyone in Freeport saw him alive. That evening Chester Wells died on the operating table at a Madison hospital. (more…)
